I am not gonna tell any one of you how I came to be called Kitty by Brian, but here is my Sunday coffee. Its a take on an Americano, its probably technically a mocha, but its not milk-based. We call it what it is, Baby!
Assembly:
6 Shots decaf espresso
4 Shots boiling water
2 Tablespoons ground Valrhona chocolate
1/4 cup evaporated milk, heated
A dash of vanilla*
Get it done:
Preheat the Royal Mug with hot water from the kettle. Dump out water and put chocolate in the holy grail. Press out espresso into the grail and stir the chocolate into the espresso well. It should smell like heaven. Add shots of water, warmed milk, vanilla and if you desire, a little sweetener to taste (you all know my favorite is Splenda). Curl up with a nice, warm computer geek and sip, making happy little “moo” noises.
*I keep my vanilla extract in a little spray pump bottle, like a travel size toiletry bottle. Works like a charm. Its great for making alcohol laced layer cakes, too- Grand Marnier, Kirsch, Frangelico… all nice to spritz onto a dessert instead of dripping all over the place. I get giddy stupid thinking I came up with such a great idea, but I am sure someone else does this, too.

I do it too, I got tired of my Misto clogging up so I bought some spray bottles to add to my arsenal. But I’ll tell everyone I got the idea from you.
